Common foreign-entrant licences
- Financial services — CBK, CMA, IRA, or SASRA approval
- Telecoms / fintech / VAS — CA (Communications Authority) licence
- Health & pharma — Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentists Council, PPB
- Education — Ministry of Education + TVETA / CUE accreditation
- Mining / energy — EPRA, Ministry of Petroleum & Mining
- Logistics, freight, customs broking — KMA, KRA Customs
Work permits for expat staff
Each non-Kenyan employee needs a Class D work permit (KES 200,000 application + KES 100,000/yr issuance). Apply on fns.immigration.go.ke — average processing is 60–90 days. Plan ahead.
